THE VOLCANOES
There are two active volcanoes on the Island of Hawaii.
Kilauea's last eruption was 2020
Maunaloa last erupted in 1984
Kilauea one of earths most active volcanos is 1.5 hours drive from Puhala Hale. The Volcanoes National Park is just over 1 hours drive where you can discover 150 miles of hiking trails through volcanic craters, scalded deserts and rainforests, as well as petroglyphs, and a walk-in lava tube

Milolii Beach is a quiet coastal area, perfect to relax and enjoy the layback South Kona Hawaii lifestyle, though close enough to take short trips to golf, shop and fine dine in Kona. Puhala Hale is 36 miles from Kailua-Kona and takes over an hours drive due to speed limitations.  Approximately an hours drive to Volcano National Park, City of Refuge is a 30 minute drive, and Hilo is 2.5 hours. The Milolii beach area is world renowned for its pristine ocean waters and awesome deep-sea fishing opportunities. The area allows you to explore tide pools, caves and lava tubes while hiking along historical sites and ancient walls.
